You’ve got dust everywhere, humidity that clings to everything, and all sorts of grit floating in the air. It’s a nightmare for heating elements. That’s exactly why we built our high-ceiling infrared radiators the way we did. We didn’t want you worrying about them every time the weather shifted or someone started cleaning the floors. Why moisture is a killer Here is the problem: moisture and hot quartz tubes don’t get along. When a tiny drop of condensation hits a scorching hot tube, it causes a “thermal shock.” This creates these microscopic cracks that you can’t even see, but they let the vacuum leak. Once that happens, the lamp burns out. Plain and simple. To stop this, we wrapped the heating element in a sealed housing. It keeps the elements tucked away so they aren’t fighting the environment every single second. Keeping things clear and dry We also added a special protective casing to stop “fogging.” You know that cloudy film that builds up on lenses? That’s a huge problem because it scatters the heat, meaning less warmth actually reaches the people on the floor. Our casing stops that from happening. And then there’s the splash-proofing. Whether it’s a sudden burst of humidity or a stray spray of water during a facility wash-down, the seals keep the electrical terminals dry. You can just let them do their job without stressing over a short circuit. The honest trade-off Now, I’ll be straight with you: this shielding does cost a little bit of raw power. Because the heat has to pass through the casing, you lose a tiny percentage of the output compared to a bare tube. But honestly? It’s a trade you’ll want to make. A bare tube might give you 100% power, but it could die in 2,000 hours because of the grime. Our sealed units might be a hair less intense, but they stay consistent for way longer. It’s the difference between a sprint and a marathon. One quick tip for when you’re installing these: make sure your mounting brackets are rock solid. The protective housing adds some weight, so your ceiling joists will feel it. Once they’re up, though, you can pretty much forget about them. They take a beating and keep on heating, without you having to climb a ladder every month for maintenance.
